Riccar R27P Clean Air Premium Pet Upright Vacuum

Description

The Riccar R27P Clean Air Premium Pet Upright Vacuum is a premium full-size bagged upright designed specifically for homes that demand strong carpet cleaning, effective pet-hair removal, advanced filtration and versatile whole-home performance. With intelligent dirt sensing, two brush-roll speeds, brush-roll shutoff, HEPA media filtration and an extended hose-and-wand system, the R27P is engineered to handle everything from embedded pet hair in carpet to dust along baseboards and debris on hard flooring.

Riccar designed the R27P as its pet-focused Clean Air Premium upright. It combines traditional upright cleaning power with modern features that help the user see where dirt remains, transition between floor surfaces and clean well beyond the floor nozzle.

For pet owners especially, the combination of a powered brush roll, specialized attachments, HEPA filtration and a self-sealing bag provides a complete approach to collecting fur, dander, dust and everyday household debris.

Advanced Dust and Allergen Sensor

One of the standout features of the Riccar R27P Premium Pet Upright Vacuum is its built-in dust and allergen sensing system.

When the vacuum detects fur, dander, dust or other debris, amber indicator lights illuminate on the front of the nozzle. As the area becomes clean, the sensor lights turn off.

This provides real-time feedback instead of forcing the user to guess whether several passes over an area were enough.

Designed for Homes with Pets

The R27P is specifically designed around the challenges of pet ownership. Pet hair can become embedded deep inside carpet fibers, settle along baseboards and collect on furniture, stairs and upholstery.

Riccar combines powered carpet agitation with specialized above-floor tools so the same vacuum can tackle hair throughout the home.

The R27P is an especially strong choice for households with dogs or cats where hair accumulation is a regular cleaning challenge.

Two Brush-Roll Speeds

The R27P provides two powered brush-roll speeds so users can tailor agitation to the flooring being cleaned.

The higher setting provides stronger agitation for conventional carpeting and embedded debris, while the lower brush speed provides gentler agitation for certain area rugs and more delicate surfaces.

This gives the R27P greater control than an upright vacuum with only one fixed brush speed.

Brush Roll Turns Off for Hard Floors

For hardwood, vinyl and other compatible bare floors, the powered brush roll can be switched completely off.

This allows the R27P to clean hard flooring using suction rather than constantly rotating the brush roller.

The result is a premium upright that can move from carpet to hard flooring without requiring a second vacuum.

Floating Self-Adjusting Nozzle

The R27P uses a floating floor nozzle designed to adapt automatically to changing floor surfaces.

Instead of requiring a manual carpet-height dial, the nozzle follows the flooring surface as the vacuum moves from one area to another.

This helps simplify transitions between different rooms and floor coverings.

Excellent Edge Cleaning

The R27P includes an edge-cleaning nozzle design that allows the machine to clean close to baseboards and walls.

This is particularly useful in homes with pets because hair and fine debris often accumulate along room edges where conventional floor heads may leave a visible line of dirt.

Premium HEPA Media Filtration

The Riccar R27P uses HEPA media filtration designed to capture very fine household particles before exhaust air returns to the room.

Riccar states that the pleated HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns.

This filtration helps capture fine dust, dander and other microscopic material carried into the vacuum during cleaning.

Self-Sealing Bag Helps Contain Allergens

The R27P uses a self-sealing disposable vacuum bag designed to trap captured dirt and allergens securely inside.

When the bag is removed, the opening seals to help prevent collected debris from escaping back into the room.

This is a significant convenience compared with emptying an open bagless dirt cup containing dust, hair and fine particles.

Multi-Stage Filtration and Odor Control

The R27P uses multiple layers of filtration rather than relying on a single filter.

• Self-sealing HEPA media vacuum bag for primary debris collection
• Secondary filtration for additional motor and particle protection
• Pleated HEPA post-filter for final-stage filtration
• Odor-control filtration designed to help reduce unwanted household and pet odors

This makes the R27P particularly well suited to homes that want strong particle containment along with pet-focused cleaning performance.

Ultra-Bright LED Headlights

LED headlights built into the nozzle illuminate the floor directly in front of the vacuum.

They make dust, crumbs and pet hair easier to see along baseboards, beneath furniture and in darker areas of a room.

The lighting system also works in conjunction with the R27P’s dirt-sensing technology to give the operator more visual feedback while cleaning.

35-Foot Power Cord

The Riccar R27P includes a 35-foot power cord, giving users an extended cleaning range without constantly changing outlets.

This is particularly helpful in larger homes, open floor plans and connected rooms where a short residential cord can interrupt cleaning.

Up to 15 Feet of Above-Floor Cleaning Reach

The R27P is not limited to floor cleaning. Its hose and wand system provides up to approximately 15 feet of cleaning reach.

This extended reach makes the vacuum useful for:

• Stairs
• Sofas and upholstered furniture
• Pet beds
• Baseboards
• Corners
• Ceiling edges
• Vents and registers
• Shelves
• Curtains
• Vehicle interiors

Stretch Hose and Telescopic Wand

The hose stretches away from the machine for detailed cleaning, while the telescopic wand provides additional reach for high and difficult-to-access surfaces.

Because the main vacuum remains on the floor, users can clean stairs or overhead surfaces without carrying the entire machine.

Specialized Pet Cleaning Tools

The Riccar R27P includes a selection of cleaning tools designed for pet homes and detailed above-floor cleaning.

• Pet-hair tool: for removing stubborn fur from upholstery and other surfaces
• Upholstery tool: for sofas, chairs and mattresses
• Dusting brush: for furniture, shelves, blinds and delicate surfaces
• Crevice tool: for corners, edges and narrow spaces
• Stretch hose: for extended above-floor cleaning
• Telescopic wand: for stairs and elevated surfaces

Onboard Tool Storage

Tools are stored directly on the vacuum so they remain readily available when needed.

This reduces the likelihood of attachments being left in a closet or misplaced and makes switching from floor cleaning to detail cleaning faster.

Full-Bag and Clog Indicator

A dedicated indicator helps alert the user when airflow is restricted or the vacuum bag requires attention.

Maintaining proper airflow is important for both cleaning performance and motor cooling, making this an especially useful feature for customers who do not want to guess when maintenance is required.

Brush-Roll Jam Protection

The R27P includes brush-roll jam protection designed to stop the brush system when an obstruction becomes caught in the nozzle.

This can help protect the vacuum from socks, cords, rug fringe and other objects that may accidentally become wrapped around or trapped in the brush roll.

Furniture Guard Protection

A non-marking furniture guard surrounds the lower nozzle area to help protect furniture, walls and baseboards from accidental bumps and scuffs.

This is particularly useful when maneuvering the upright through furnished rooms.

Rubber Non-Marking Wheels

The R27P rolls on rubber non-marking wheels designed to move smoothly while helping protect compatible hard-floor surfaces.

Whole-Home Multi-Surface Cleaning

Riccar currently lists the R27P for use on:

• Carpet
• Area rugs
• Hard floors
• Bare floors
• Vinyl
• Stairs

The combination of multiple brush speeds, brush shutoff and above-floor tools makes it significantly more versatile than a basic carpet-only upright vacuum.

Why Choose the Riccar R27P for Pet Hair?

Pet hair rarely stays in one place. It becomes embedded in carpets, settles along baseboards and collects on furniture, stairs and pet bedding.

The Riccar R27P addresses those different cleaning situations with a powered brush roll for floors, specialized pet tools for furniture, a long hose-and-wand system for stairs and above-floor surfaces, and advanced filtration to help contain fine dust and dander.

That makes the R27P much more than a standard upright with a “pet” label. Its pet-focused features are integrated throughout the machine.

USA Vacs Expert Recommendation

We recommend the Riccar R27P for customers who want a premium, traditional upright vacuum with exceptional versatility for pet homes.

The combination of two brush-roll speeds, brush-roll shutoff, HEPA filtration, a self-sealing bag and Riccar’s dirt-sensing system gives the R27P an unusually complete feature set.

It is particularly attractive for homes with both carpet and hard floors because the brush roll can be shut off when powered agitation is not needed, while the floating nozzle handles floor-height transitions without requiring constant manual adjustment.

For customers comparing premium uprights, the R27P’s biggest strengths are its pet-hair capabilities, filtration, long cleaning reach and real-time dirt sensing.
